glow plugs removal

do you need a special tool to take them off? ive found the plugs and took off the electrical connectors, the plugs themselves are held in with bolts but are too long to get a standard 9mm socket over them to remove, can anyone help?

They are 10mm mate and you'll need a deep 3/8" socket on an extension. Put some penetrating oil around where they join the head as they can seize if they've been in for ages.

No, a 10mm spark plug socket has a 14mm opening.
