I agree phoenixy. The actual and published times differ because of how they are tested. Under normal driving conditions the time will be quicker

Renault still claim the 172-182 do the same 0-60 times, presumably for insurance groupings.

yeah it also says that the vts does 0-60 in over 8 secs, my bro has one and he is not that far behind not 2 secs behind to 60!!!

although he has had a lot of engine mods compared to me.

would i be right in saying that the clio 172 and 182 are both quicker than the 3 dr golf 2.3 v5 and all other golf gtis? (apart from the R32) ????

The figs are pretty accurate on the whole for the popular cars, but the Golfs are no way that fast. Also is there such thing as a MK1 172? I thought it was phase 1 and the 172s are all MK2? lol

mine is a mk1 172 mate. they had the ronded headlights etc and coloured logos on the seats and so on and so forth! the mk2 came out on 51 plate. mk1 was w reg to y reg

I know what they look like mate, lol. You sure MK1s aint the shape upto P-R reg and anything afters a MK2? Pretty sure its MK2 Phase 1 for round lights and MK2 Phase 2 for the 172 and 182s that look IDENTICAL apart from the exhaust and rear bumper...?

i think what clarkie is saying is that its the 1st 172 model hence its called the mk1 172, the 172 from 51 plate is the second 172 model thus mk2

hmmm me too, but no it was really tight - it didnt get to silly speed but a good thru the gears run from rest and they were neck n neck. probably down to my extreme skill and unmistakeable finesse.

Clio 182 cup 0-60: 6.49 0-100: 16.74

taken from autocars recent 0-100-0 testing all done same day and same conditions and same strip if anyone asks.
