gone back to ds2500's..

most know the story..

standard brakes started going crap around 15k miles, so changed the pads for ds2500's, went well for a week or so then went crap again, so replaced discs and pads for standard. the passenger disc had a big black ring round the inside for some reason, and the ds2500's were a bit shitty. had muck in those 'gaps' down the middle of the pad.

standard discs and pads went well for a couple of month, took some abuse at cadwell, but lately it came back from the dealers and seemed s**t.

so yesterday put the ds2500's in, seems ok for now. seem alot better when theyre warmed up.
will see how long this lasts.

one thing that was obvious was the ds2500's dont seem to wear as much? both the standard pads and ds' were in for similar amounts of time, the ds' maybe slightly longer but the standard pads had less meat on them. allthough they did take a beasting at cadwell.

the ds' were good for a few weeks after i fitted them first then they went crap, took it to renault they said theres no problems, took it to GDI he said theres definately something up with the brakes. so bought standard discs and pads while i was down at gdi, this way renault couldnt blame the poor braking on my 'performance pads' if it was still crap.

fitted the standards, and all was well for a few weeks/month. then these started going crap.

so cleaned the ds2500's up and tried them again to give them a second chance seeing as everyone raves about them on here. alls well so far.

I drove guys car, the brakes did not have the bite they normally do...

I dont quite understand however how they have "gone off" after a short period of time....

unless its an intermittent master cylinder seal that when it gets to a certain point starts to loose pressure???
