My car is up for sale, there is a Trophy available nearby :D phoned for insurance quote :eek: :eek: :eek: Fully comp/legal/£120excess/courtesy car can you guess what the first quote was :dead:

Heh heh being old is great, all the insurance numpties think your too old to drive like a hooligan anymore, just renewed my trophy insurance - £390 with protected no claims :)

I am 21 and looking at an Insurace bill of £1400 to Insure the 172 CUP when i get one!

Now that is anal rape as i drive like a bloody grandad!

I'm gunna get raped when I get my license back then.. 21, no NCB, banned for 12 months for Dangerous Driving :( :(

£310 including protected no-claims for my Trophy.

Being a knackered old git does have it's good points :clown:

My £310 was with MORETH>N but I know people who have found them to be high. I think it depends on your driving record really.

I found the quote from confused.com :D
 
I have a spot on record 29 years old and 8 years NCB, tried them. Confused.com found 510 the cheapest.

How many miles are you down for?

Only 8,000 miles, and I do live in a relatively low-crime area. Thats probably a factor.

Oh, and I am a good 12 years older than you, that probably helps as well.
 
Yeah, 20 years ncb does help!

I live in a village in Cheshire, very cheap. Its the no of miles that really kills your insurance on a hot hatch. £410 is still cheap, guess its a renewal with the same guys again...

I paid £340 last year. I find insurance companies are very biased towards single men, I put my 23 years old girlfriend on my insurance and it brings it down!

I live near the Staffs/Cheshire border (near Congleton) and MORETH>N wanted £435 to renew, but I got the quote from confused.com and the cheapest quote was from them (MORETH>N). I then went onto the MORETH>N website and got quoted £310.

I rang them and asked them why the difference and they couldn't give me a sensible answer. They said that I could accept the £310 online quote and become a "new" customer, so I did. Mad or what?

I may have another quick look then and see what i can find, I mean I live near Holmes Chapel should be well cheap....

I hate car insurance, though at least Im not 20 and trying to insure this car!

Just got a quote from Morethan:

£353.13 (8000 miles annual)

Im not liking that the excess though.

Accidental Damage: £650 on ME and £1000 on my missus.

With Privilage:

£325 for me and £575 for the missus.

Sage, yeah its like all the Shielas wheels adverts. These specialist womens/young driver/old driver insurance firms don't tend to be any better.

Yeah I agree, £650 excess, f**k if it gets scratched or bashed there would be no point in having the insurance in the first place, especially if my girlfriend did it!

You have to be careful about how much excess they load onto you my quote of 400 was £120 excess and 7000 miles per year.

Yes I'm that old excuse me it's time for my :sleepy:

Try multipling that by 2.5 and thats what I pay for my 182 at the moment with 2 years no claims, declared blueflame exhaust and my mum on the insurance. Oh and by the way I am with elephant
