Got my 182 !

I got my 182 today,

At last,no more sleepless nights thinking about getting it,no more wetting my pants in anticipation,no more reading 182 threads wishing it were me,no more looking at pictures in the gallery and drooling !!!

Mine is Arctic blue with cup spoilers and no suspension pack,regardless of the non uprated suspension it looks stunning with standard wheels.Some like the grey some dont,i love the look of the silver alloys against the blue.

Not had it long enough to comment from experience but my initial reaction is......WOW.

My 5 year old son said this is a cool car daddy there is even a space for me to put my drink and sweets...my arse he will be drinking and eating in there !!!

Pissed it down on the way home with it..Doh ! But i will take some pics when i can stop grinning like a bleedin Chesire cat.

I have never waiting this long for a new car but today seems worth it now,i cant remember feeling this excited in the past over a new car.Its ace !!!

wait till you have taken it into the twilight zone above 5k revs! Thats when it starts becoming fun, especially in 1st and second, its like the car turns into the devil for those last for thousand revs! I havent stopped smiling since i got mine and am constantly going the long way around now (and also feel like i am constantly filling it with optimax!)

Now dont go on - Ive got until May to wait!!! What am I supposed to do till then?!!!

Seriously, Im looking forward to what youre experiencing now. Ive never had a brand new car either, so its an added anticipation! Dont know if Im just sad, but Im trying to plan a route to kill 1000 miles!! Once I get the car Ill drive it non stop to run it in!!

Thats not sad at all Huw and you wont be dissapointed when you get it.

This site helped me get through it a lot,reading about peoples experiences with theirs,seeing loads of piccies (Big help) and just having somewhere to come where there were others who are into cars.

Some car to choose for your first new one...Great choice !!

Im a bit apprehensive as to the reliability of the Renaults - Ive heard a lot of stories. Previous cars Ive had have never let me down (apart from a certian Ford!), so if this 182 does break, then Ill be very disappointed! Thats the only thing taking the shine off things at the moment.

Ill be reading with interest your experiences (hopefully good ones) with the car, also Dave182 may get some hassle off me, coz mine should be identical to his 182!

are you going for the stripes huw?

At the end of the day, you only here about peoples problems with the cars, nobody comes on here and starts a thread saying they have had nothing wrong go with their car and how good that is.

Also, these days no matter which manufacturer you buy, you will get good cars and bad ones, my boss has got a Merc SL600 and he has a leaking roof, on a 70k car! Another guy at work bought a new porsche boxster s and he had it break down on him a couple of time within 72 hours of owning it and it had to be garaged so you never know how lucky you are going to be.

My previous car was a renault megane coupe (import) and in 50000 miles ane 3 1/2 years I didnt have a single thing go wrong with it, now thats not bad and goes to prove that renault can build good cars when they want to!

Just take it as it comes and dont worry about, what will be will be!

Ive not even seen Racing blue in the flesh yet, but after seeing the (enhanced) pics of your car I was considering the stripes! I probably wont go for them though - £300 is a bit much when I could do it with a roll of tape costing £3.99!!!

The better it works, the more we take it for granted.....

And watch it shrink and peel off after 2 months. Youll need a decent quality vinyl as it is going on the roof and bonnet where it will be subjected to direct sunlight.

The response on the roads has been amazing,ive seen at least half a dozen broken necks today stretching !! If you are paranoid dont get one lol

Even filling up the guy in the petrol station said nice car mate and considering the amount and different cars they must see its something i didnt expect.If i had gone for the Cooper S it would just be another one of them Minis so yeah im well chuffed,proud as punch and suprised at the reactions this car gets.Even had 3 of my neighbours come for a look around and i dont usually see or hear from them !

saw a 182 in artic blue with both cup packs tonight in Kidderminster, flashed him and then pulled along side and beeped the horn to find an old man who looked scared and wondered what I was doing, ahhh bless him!

Cars looking good too! As has been said, more pics would be great to drool over! Must say though, the 182 looks, er, meaner, maybe, with anthracite wheels. Still very nice nontheless!
