Great Renault Service

  2005 Audi A3 3.2 Quattro

I was very impressed with the 30,000km service done to my car yesterday.

Dropped the car off at the dealer at just before 7am and was met by one of the salesmen who I have dealt with before and was offered coffee while I waited for my lift to arrive.

Booked the car in and asked them to check the exhaust noise as well as the rattling noise in the suspension when cornering at low speeds.

Was phoned by the mechanic to say my brakes were almost metal to metal and needed replacing and my rear wiper blade needed replacing too. Gave me the prices + labour which I agreed to

Was phoned again at 1pm to say my car was ready to be picked up.

I arrived at 4:45pm and was given a complete run through of what was done to the car (including the lack of spark plug change which confused the reception women until i reminded her I drive a 172 and then she remembered the plugs arent changed just yet ;))

The car is much better now than before the service and they seem to have sorted the rattles in the exhaust and suspension.

I am a happy Renault customer again :D

Well its about time I had decent service as the last time I serviced a Clio (my old 1.4 16V) I was very unhappy, but then that was at a dealer who has recently closed down.

Vicroy, Thats so nice to hear, Whos the wonderful dealer????

My dealers are ok too, its just Ren UK that keep moving the goal posts about warrenty, luckily their computer networks arnt linked so the dealer has no idea that I dont have my warrenty, they just treat my car as if it was a uk car....great!!!

I like that, praise for something which should be standard, ill only be happy when i have an example of someone at Renault going out of their way to help me.

I was happy when mine went in for some work at Sutton Park Renault.

We could do with a sticky post at the top where people can name decent dealers.

Unfortunately Rob thats the way things seem to be in this country these days. We expect the worst as we are becoming accustomed to it, then when we get the service we pay for we think its a bonus!!!!

Dales in Cornwall waited an extra 15mins after closing time for me to get there, just the reseptionist and the service manager waiting in the dark (could have been a cover for their secret affair, I supose);)

Twas done at Renault Constantia Kloof

Luckily here in SA all Renaults are imports and the warrenties are determined on first delivery date. If it was delivered before 28 June 2001 then you have 1 year warrenty. If car was sold after that then you get the 3 year.

While were on the subject, roughly how long have people had to wait to get there car seen to?

My previous car was a Ford and they were usually able to get it booked in for any work within a couple of days. The two Renault dealers around here quote 3 - 4 weeks. Unless you get the RAC to take your car, then they take a week!!!;)

Wish it was that straight forward in the uk viceroy!!! You wouldnt think so by the way the dealers throw their toys out of the cot, but all Renaults in the UK are imports too!!!!!! The ones that are not sold through dealers are black marked by them as imports!!! Got mine from a car suppermarket with a big reduction in price!

They are ALL made in the same factory

The parts guy stayed late on a Saturday so that I could get some brake pads for my Willy.

They were really slow servicing the car though when I had it in for a cambelt and a bunch of other little things. And they quoted me the wrong price for the cambelt change at first. I put some of it down to language difficulties though.

Rudy Reutter in Beggen, Luxembourg in case you happen to be in the neighbourhood.
