Grooved discs - wet braking issues

Coming along the motorway the other evening, in heavy rain, waterlogged (not quite aquaplaning levels) doing about 50/60ish, and I had to brake as the traffic was queueing on the slip road ahead. Press middle pedal .. nothing .. press harder .. starts to slow a bit .. press harder, change underwear, and eventually it slowed a bit but the noises and lack of braking efficiency scared me a little to say the least !! :dead:

Once the pads were a little warmer, the second (I was prepared this time!) attempt was a little better but not much. Once I got off the m'way and it wasn't waterlogged, the brakes were ok !

It's happened a few times in the wet, but not to that extent before. The pads have plenty of life left, the discs all seem ok, but they are grooved. I'm wondering if water sits in the grooves or something ridiculous, and stops the surfaces touching properly !? In the dry, after one stop, the brakes will pop eyeballs from sockets. So I'm properly confused and slightly concerned !!

Has anyone experienced this before ?! :S

I've got some ebay specials on mine i think (on the car when i bought it). Find them poop when wet and cold, but fine once used a few times. Pads are some cheapo mintex jobbies

They better be bloody good haha. Cheaper than 4-pots I spose :)

Best pads to go with....? Fast road .. no track stuff needed.

That's not too bad a price, my mate works for a motor factors so I only paid £105+vat. I'm running DS2500 with mine.

The ones I got dude are spot on tbh... Tested them out about 10mins ago with some sideway roundabout action which required some hefty brake work to control! Dam the Clio and its lively rear end!

Read so many raved reports on the DS2500 Sets on KTec.. Could be worth giving them a try?

Edit: I'm on about the Brembo HC And DS2500 Sets btw!
