Does anyone else find the older cars in the game much much much nicer to drive than the newer stuff?

I love the Merc Gullwing on the AMG challenge and the Ferrari 512 (?) just feels so beautifully balanced and fun to drive.

I then went and bought a Ferrari 458 and its just left me a bit cold to be honest. Even the Miura feels so much more satisfying to pilot than either the Murci and Gallardo.


The NSX-R however. EPIC.

Definitely,the older cars especially supercars are Miles better to drive,a lot more fun too,E60 M5 is my favorite car so far so beautifully balanced and controllable.

This game really does has major flaws what with the lack of damage and detail etc.

The ai is seriously starting ot piss me off the way it just follows a predetermined path no matter where your car may be.

This illustrates how much better tha ai in forza is tbh

That video really does show the worst case, if you are side by side towards a corner and you have the better line the AI cars do keep out of your way without crashing into you. I have seen the AI cars take the off road route numerous times...

Better than that video was showing.

In GT4 if someone crashed into you they would just keep accelerating into you trying to push you, but GT5 they still push you but actually stop, reverse and go around you.

Not to start a Xbox/PS3 argument but it seams to be the people who don't own a PS3 slating the game.

I would say its worth the money.

Blockbuster or somewhere would probably be renting them out I would assume, or just use Amazon... they have a price guarantee to be the cheapest. They even refunded part of my preorder when they found out someone was selling it cheaper.

if you like Gran Turismo before, you'll like this. So long as you dont expect anything truly revolutionary that is.

it's still better than all the other driving games out there, but it doesn't live up to the hype that it's prolonged gestation has created.

Borrowed a copy from work yesterday, played few hours and can't help but notice how s**t the AI is, Pug 106 Rallye vs BMW 130 +16 second lead by 3 laps.

Other then that everything seems to be as it should, shadows on standard cars is a bit Sega Mega Drive but that's only for a few seconds on the start line.

Got the trusty Civic Type R which leaves everything for dead.

How do you upgrade brakes in this? Only see a brake balance controller!?

1) Yep, it seems all cars have serated roofs!
2) Pah, RX-7's own all
3) Not yet, there'll be a patch to sort this, eventually. But it wont be enough for some, who'll want to choose what kind of pad to use, let alone the calipers etc.

With regards to the AI it does get better, as does the damage the more you level up. Not sure to what point though.

Just got a championship white EP type R from the used car dealer, I now have it putting out 350 Bhp :approve: while my Clio V6 is at 400 Bhp! both useless as i cant race either of them in the races i am currently on hahahaha

I noticed something odd last night... I swear Bugatti is owned by VW which makes it German...

So why does it let you use the Bugatti in the French hot hatch races?

Firstly it's not French and secondly its not a hot hatch.

It owned all of the cars by miles anyway, easy race.

I hope the AI do learn a trick or 2, every race so far has been more like a time trial then a race.

Depends.

When you get down to it, it's GT4 in HD, with 200 new cars. End. And there are some really bad glitches on the standard cars.

It's only playable with a wheel, too. And the AI's genuinely terrible, as you can see from that video.

I'd buy it if I didn't need to buy a wheel and seat to play it with, since I already have a PS3. But IMO, it's not worth the expense when I have Forza.

I'm with Chris on this. I was using the pad in photo mode so thought I'd have a go. It's massively, hugely better with a wheel. I doubt I'd still be playing it if I didn't have a wheel.

Not saying it's not better without a wheel but I am using a pad and have always used a pad yet I have no problem at all playing the game.

Saying it's only playable with a wheel isn't exactly true, that's your opinion.

Trick is to draft and overtake at the first opportunity you can. It took me a while to get it done in first place but its done! Slightly disappointing reward though...

I used the same video but I overtook the first van on the first corner, by the time your on the second lap you can overtake the last van on the last corner and win first place.
