Guess the price of the service...

  Meg R26 + Mk4 GTTDI
2003 Clio Dynamique DCi80

Oil, Filters, Pads.
Timing belt.
Water Pump.
Track rod end or something like that. Its something to do with front suspension or around that area anyway. Forget what he said:S
Rear spring.

The guy used to be a mechanic and now only does it in his spare time for a bit of cash. Been told by my uncle that he is sound and not hard to pay.

What we thinking for parts and labour?

Answer to come either tomorrow night or tuesday night depending on when he gets the water pump delivered and fitted so that I can pick it up.

why dont you do the rear spring yourself, it really easy, and do the oil and filter that will bring the cost down m8

Well it was going in for a service anyway and the rear spring broke the day before. The guy said he would stick one on for me so he might only charge for the parts. He seems dead on enough.

I was maybe thinking that it would be about 275? Much is a water pump usually?

Well he charged my uncle 40 quid labour for replacing a fuel pump and 2 exhaust sections on his picasso if that gives you's an idea of what he charges

  t3 corolla 116bhp
gates powergrip timing kit is about 58 quid inc vat
water pump is circa 35 quid.
needs timing tools to do it right. i went to a local guy at 68k to do mine, didnt have proper tools and was a rite 'mare to get the timing right.

get the aux belt changed too as it should be off anyway when the timing belt is being done. they're only 11 quid from stealers if you want genuine one.

i'd do oil and filter myself personally, dead easy to do on these.

tracking will need doing after the TRE so, unless he's the facility himself (there are some fairly accurate DIY tools), that'll be another £30ish

Might see if I can find a small Renault/Clio related prize for the person whos the closest

snapped spring or a used timing belt!
