Halfords 5.1 - deal or no deal?

Right, so after learning from my Castrol SRF mistake, which I boiled anyway, I'm looking at some cheap stuff that will handle high temps, and is cheap enough to rinse through whenever it boils, without breaking the bank. I would bleed some off every track day, and replace it all probably every 2 or 3 track days.

So my criteria are;

  • Good enough to resist boiling (being sensible & with air flow to the calipers)
  • Cheap enough to be able to get through lots of it without feeling like I'm ripping myself off every time I have to bleed some off.

With those points in mind, does anyone think Halfords dot 5.1 is a sensible choice? It's £11.50 per litre and I can pop to the shops and pick it up off the shelf by the box load. Deal or no deal?

I've used Halfords 5.1 for a few years before going to Super dot 4. For what your saying halfords should be ok.
