Hangar Visit

  Cupra
I was given the chance to tag along with a Hangar visit today at work. I thought I'd share the snaps in case anybody here was interested.

One of the oldies and a visitor:

One of the most interesting bits.. the hidden crew rest areas in a 747. 8 beds in a tiny room above the passengers heads. The Pilots also had their own beds and toilet in a separate room inside the c**kpit.

We then moved onto a 777. The pilots area was just behind the c**kpit. Up some small stairs and there is this private room tucked away.

Interesting to see the non-public areas and the huge expanse of the hangar. Cheers for sharing

Cheers! Glad you found them interesting. I felt like a little kid again getting to sit in the cockpit and have a nosey around everywhere.

@Dave63, this is in the KLM Hangars in Schiphol, Amsterdam.

The wide shot of the 747 really puts into perspective how enormous that hangar is. Great shots and captions, very interesting stuff.

I've worked @ Rolls Royce for the past year until August, so loved this thread, cheers OP.

I was disappointed to see the GE stamp on the engines TBH.

On another note...Rolls do have companies they own that work alongside GE to produce certain parts. F*ck knows what though, far too complicated to understand all aspects of the business!

Nice pictures,
our crew rest areas are slightly different on both 747 and 777 don't like the 3 cross idea on the 777

  Cupra
That's the 777-200. The 777-300 has separate cabins for each person. The 747s are showing their age now!
