Harness Mounting Points

Car  E63, 172 track toy
Hi there,

I am going about fitting sidemounted buckets and 6pt harnesses to my car at the moment.

I have the two shoulder straps taken care of but am looking for suggestions as to where to attach the remaining 4.

I am sure i read somewhere that they shouldn't be attached to the seat frame but then have seen this done a lot.

I am welding two bars in, to later have mounts for the seats and wondered if *1 would be an appropriate place for the between legs straps as i have seen that on some manufacturers subframes, or maybe number 2 [cilla!] I have read that the floor often bends up in an impact so direct attaching to that would be a bit dim.

Finally for the two lap straps, do you think points 3 would be sensible or should i try and fabricate new locations on my mounting rails?

Thanks for your input guys and gals.

I think 2 would be better for the 'between the legs'

I have my lapstrap points on the floor pan, a bit further back to where you have marked 3. Just drilled holes through the floor :)

well you could always use some existing mounting points, buy 2 m10 eyebolts and insert on into the bolt hole in the sill that you removed the bolt that was holding the saftybelt slide bar at the bottom in with.
