Has this ever happened to your clio?

Was biking to uni and I heard a scraping noise from a car coming the other way. It was a black mk 2 clio, looked like a 1.2 or 1.4, I turned my head as it went past and the back box was dragging on the floor!! It hadn't come off at the back, it had come off where it attachs to the rest of the exhaust pipe!!

It had clearly just happened because the woman who was driving it was pulling over as I looked to see what the noise was. Is this a common occurence on mk 2's or what? lol

it happened to me on my 172 over xmas but its a magnex exhaust

i'm pretty sure this was a standard exhaust as it was a middle aged woman, rest of the car was standard spec, think it was fairly new aswell.
