Hazy Smeary Black Focus

  Golf 7.5R & Clio 200
Hi

My brother has just had to get rid of his Civic and buy a Focus Diesal :/

No ones more upset then him, but due to the milage he does for work, had to be done.

The car itself isn't in bad nick, it will be seeing a lot of motorway soon so imagine the bonnet will take a battering soon.

Only issue, and the is a 'big issue'.. Is the paintwork has a lot of smears on it. It almost looks like wax has been applied and simply not buffed off.

I tried getting rid of this today for him, but just made them shiny smears instead of disappear..

I iron x'd, tardis'd, clayed, polished and waxed. Took bloody ages, but didn't solve the problem.

Any idea's?

(The obvious is use a high cutting polish with my DA, but I don't have a paint thickness gauge, and have no idea how thick the focus paint is, or how soft etc, so only did it to a level I felt comfortable with)

Thanks a lot
Ry

It's holograms mate. It's actually from incorrectly polishing the car before. Not breaking the compound down correctly. You can temporaraly hide them with Srp or AutoFinesse Tripple but it needs machine polished by someone who knows what they are doing to get rid of them completely.

Hint taken ;) Just kidding. I'm a relative novice, just like a clean car. I'll have a butch at the "hidey" products, as I'm not brave enough to actually attack the paint.

Cheers
