HD projector

i wouldnt have one for everyday use as the bulb will need replacing often, every 3000 hours or so, which might sound a lot but isnt and the bulbs cost a hundred pounds alone. i have a plasma on the wall and a drop down screen and projector for watching films etc only

Head on over to avforums and they'll point you in the right direction. I have a Panasonic PT-AX100 (which you should be able to pick up second hand for that amount) which is fantastic, all be it in a light controlled room. I only use it for games and films, but compared to my 40" Bravia which cost me a few hundred pounds more its incredibly smooth, detailed and crisp. Colours are fantastic too, but as with most projectors, you need to tweak the settings heavily to make the picture its best.

I also made my own 2m wide screen for £50 and its perfect.

1300 Ansi Lumens in a room will be bad without all the curtains closed

I can get the replacemnt lamps for HD700 for £84+vat so its not really a lot to run

I wouldn't have a projector for everyday viewing, mainly for films / gaming.

As mentioned, take a look at AVForums.com, they will help you out within a day or two.

You can get a picture as good as most LCD/Plasma but a lot bigger with the right kit..

The Optoma projector is very good for the cost but wont give you good performance in a well lit room or a decent screen to project onto
