Headlamp adjustment for France etc

Hi All,

If this is an old thread I apologise.

Im off to France soon. How do you adjust or mask the headlamps for use abroad ? If a Renault kit etc is required, please advise of number and price.

Shortly after I got my 182 I complained of excessive (wind ?) noise from the rear of the drivers door. Its finally been assessed by someone from Renault Technical and Ill pass on what they reported once I hear.

Its an old topic but theres never been a proper answer to it as far as I know! Most people dont bother. A few have tried bits of tape to make it look like they were having a go.

agreed - just stick tape on, or buy those deflector things from Halfrauds - they dont do much, but its another thing local Plod looks for (speaking from experience )

You dont mask xenon lights, there may be an adjustment you can make yourself (must confess ive never looked) or the dealer will have to set the aim before and after. Or just dont bother, the way the beam is cast is different to regular halogen lamps so its not as bad as not masking a "normal" lamp unit.

I went to the dealer to see about getting mine changed over, as your not meant to put the stickers on xeons (they melt). He sorta looked at me funny and implied it would take about 3 days to do, so I thought bugger it and just blinded a few frogs.

The deflectors Ive used on several trips have been fine - never melted and seem to cut out the dip to the left effectively (well against a wall they seem to work) - xenon lights still emit light across the road so you can block some of it out!

If you dont bother you risking it IMO (esp in France where they look for an excuse)
