Heyy
Pretty much as the title says, my car hasnt been used for about a month, due to me being at Uni.. It has been started once during the middle, but only run for a few mins...
Took it for a decent drive today, about an hour and a half, and found that the heater took a LOT longer than usual to heat up, and when it did, it alternated between lukewarm and almost totally cold... though it never got totally cold, but still cold enough for me to be freezing!!
The engine temp went up at about normal rate and sat just below half, which is normal unless im stationary for a while..
Couldn't see any link between the air changing temp and moving/revs/idling etc etc...
Only thing to mention is that the head gasket is failing slightly on 1 cylinder, the mechanic I used found that when cold it lost a little bit of water and was a bit lower on a compression test, but once the engine warmed up it lost none, and passed a compression test fine, as the expansion of the engine from the heat was more than enough to stop the leak.. So it looses a little bit of water when totally cold, but give it a min or 2 and its fine... I keep it topped up and never had any problems, been running like this for about 9 months!
Just wondering if because its been sitting the matrix has got a bit blocked of a valve jammed?
Cheers
