Whizz pop bang!

Does anyone have any videos/sound clips of a decatted 172/182 so I can see what I should expect! Also...performance/fuel wise..what difference should I expect!

I got an unsilenced and it sounds fookin loverley

you wont regret it..

I think the mpg has dropped a bit but that may be just cos im drivin it harder as it sounds so sweet especially 5k+

Less restriction I guess. I remeber someone else who knew what he was talking about saying it. I'm not 100% myself

Mine is better on fuel now. Couple of mpg. It's something to do with the cat causing over fueling to stay within emissions levels. I think.

Biggest benefit is it sounds great when accelerating.
Downside is it is boomy at motorway speeds

Fingers, toes, eyes, etc all crossed that it will not kill me on mpg tbh lol!

Saying that...the noise will be worth it LOL! Will take a vid on my (rubbish) phone later and post it up if its any good!!!

Be really interested to hear what you think. Especially about the mpg! We do over 250 miles a week, so it's really important to us!

when i added my decat to the 182 matched to a btb system it did deepen the tone a bit and i agree a little more boomey on the motorway, i didnt notice any change in my mpg. its a nice metalic sound (almost like i would expect a bmw m-series to sound like if they did a current 4pot one, a metalic howl kind of noise)

i have used decats on other cars and it made a huge diff to the sound and popped and banged on gear changes but the double silencer design of the 182 system seems to muffle this a bit.

makw sure you get you cat back and keep it drp and safe for mot time.

Been out tonight and given it a really good run. Disappointed that there arent many pops or bangs lol...but the noise really is brilliant. Couldnt tell much when sat inside the car, but one of my friends recorded me flying past a few times, and listening back, Im really impressed tbh. Ive instantly noticed a difference in power, it seems to have a bit more of a kick to it, and the power does seem to have increased a bit. Also...interestingly, I put 15 quid of fuel in before I went out, and with the run Ive done tonight, I would normally have used at least a quarter of a tank, but despite being very heavy on the right foot lol, and averaging 27 mpg, its barely moved. Dont know if Im being overly optimistic, but Im growing more happy with it already!!

Decat will improve the mpg... less restriction for exhaust gases, making a more efficient engine.
