Hella Twin Optic Lights Wiring Adapter.

Evening,

Please can somebody help me on where i can get the hella wiring adapter for the conversion from the standard headlights to the twin opic (172) style lights?

Ive been searching through the posts on the boards and have come up with the part number, which is :- 8ka 152 601-001. When i visit the hella site and enter this number it doesnt find the item.

Anybody who has changed thier headlights from standard to twin optic lights please let me know where to purchase this wiring adapter?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

nah you dont really need the adapters, if your talking about the clio mk2 ph1 you just need the wiring diagram for the Clio which I cant find at the mo but will get back to you 2moz if you need it. Basically you wire the HB3 bulbs to the low beem wire and earth it then wire the h7 bulbs to the high beam wire and earth that aswell its easy but hard to explain.

Nearly forgot you need a extra fuse to put in your fusebox to make the sidelights stay on with normal lights or it will fail MOT.

Thanks davebem,

Yes i would like a copy or something of the wiring diagram, if you can that would be great. :)

Also where do i get the insulated plugs to connect to the lamp in the center?

Get some insulated wire and plugs from Halfords to fit in current adapter and the bulbs. I made my own adapters buy making wires and using the current connector that was used to plug into the old H4 bulb. You wire as follows:

Left Main Beam green wire to H7 bulb and earth other pin on bulb to black wire

Left Dipped beam Beige wire to HB3 bulb and earth to black wire aswel.

Right main beam yellow wire to H7 and earth to black wire

Right dipped beam white/red buld to HB3 bulb and earth it aswell

When I say earth i mean connect one pin from each bulb onto existing black wire for that side.

Looks daunting but is actually straight forward make sure you get some high quality wire and the right sized connectors to go on the ends. Hope this helps.

Thanks again DaveBeam,

Very Helpful.

The motor on the left ligfht doesnt adjust the beam level, whalst the right one is working fine.

What can i do about the this. I can hear the motor working but the beam isnt moving.

Can i adjust the motor or fix this problem?

Have you or anybody else had this problem?

My optics came completely out of alignement which will fail the mot you can adjust the height of the lights by turning the white screw thingy, also the servos are adjustable too but cant remeber how you do it, I think you screw the bit sticking out.
