hello (and my lucky story)



  Renault clio 1.8 mk1
hey i'm new new just bought my 1.8 16v so i thought i'd tell you my lucky story! bought the car from a friend of a friend it didn't run but he'd spent ££££'s on it had a new clutch, cambelt, full service, all brakes, 4 new tyres etc etc all in the last six months, he'd lost interest after it failed to start! checked the obviose things spark and fuel had neither so i towed it to my work, it would crank over but not start and had no battery light. so i started with the obviouse and ripped out the after fit immobiliser and put it back to standard. still didn't go! having a look around the fuse box area i found a key switch which seemed weird but look standard so i left it, then i happend to look in the glove box and saw another in the top. which was even weider as i didn't have the key for either. so i took the black dash cap off and found where the wires went to. i found they were spliced into a thick yellow wire with scotch locks (MY MOST HATED THING IN THe WORLD!!!) just happend to knock one of the wires and it fell out! joined them up and away it went! the best luck ever i'd just turned £400 quids worth of car in to double that and i haven't even paid for it yet! it all took about ten mins could have taken days!;)
