HELP - 172 Handbrake Cable

Trying to replace my hand brake cable (O/S) now this afternoon. The cars on the stands but just cant seem to figure out how to get the cable(s) free of the lever. Both cables off the calipers but cant lift the handbrake mech out off the floor (its un bolted ) PLEASE help me now...

just loosen the nut at the front of the car to remove from the catch then yank it hard from the back and feed it through the hole
