Help/Advice Re: Clio 16v Dials

My water temp gauge stopped working last week, with the needle just sitting slightly above bottom.

Ive been told I need a new Gauge by a mate whos an auto electrian.

After looking on http://www.gsfcarparts.comwww.gsfcarparts.com & http://www.eurocarparts.comwww.eurocarparts.com with no luck, I felt the only alternative was to phone Renault!

After making sure they knew it was for sagem dials and the coolent temp (not oil) they asked whether it was needle or electronic...... I said needle, am I right?

They said itd have to be a special order from Renault France and would cost £69 + VAT. The good news is that theyd only take 5 working days cos I need it by the week after new year.

Any ideas of other places I could get it from.......a bit cheaper too!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Tom

failing that your local reno scrappy, and hope they got a 16v in there.

Thanks, Id forgotten about Paul.

Ive just tried phoning and no answer......but it is almost Christmas after all.

I might have to wait until the new year, but hopefully hell have one!

I was just thinking. Wont all mk1 clios have the same part/use the same gauge?

So simply find any model Clio in a scrapyard......

Does anyone know which clios had the sagem dials, and which didnt?

My dials are sagem, so I guess I need the gauge out of another sagem diald clio....
