Biffs didn't get serviced at 12k though did it ??

yeah biffs was only serviced at 18k which was late. Its a decent price, condition dependent. Depends if theres other history, aux belt completed.....

Maz surely he needs to pick from the list and see whats he likes? you can tell as much as we can from a photo and you know what to be looking for, whats a shitter and what isnt?

  X-172 Cup
The first one - £3k - oops sorry that's sold now TO ME :D !!!!! fleet car FSH 36 page service portfolio 2 owners - YE-HA!!!

back to you Maz, sorry I had a bit of a funny turn then...it's been an emotional week what with selling my Cup but it looks like I've got another RS + 3k in the bank...

I would max your budget of 5k, get as lower miles as poss with full Reno service history from a dealer who will give you a min of a 3 months warranty, it will cost a little more than some of the private ones but you'll get piece of mind which is important when buying a used car if you are not mechanically minded/ an engineering geek (like some on here lol)

On the other side of the coin and at the lower end of your budget don't be put off by high milers with FSH, once the Cambelt has been changed you have 70k+ of 'normal' servicing + if it's been looked after it will have lot's of new parts on it...wheel bearings/brake discs/exhausts etc - a genuine seller with have all the receipts from work done and you can then build up a picture of the cars life and the owner - if you do decide to get a high miler I would get it inspected by AA/RAC etc so you get your piece of mind and a bargain as well.;)

good luck, I'll keep an eye out down here

He has asked me to shortlist thats all and all I am doing is asking for advice and guidance on what "maybe" look/sound like a decent example because there are alot of experienced people on here I know you never know until you see something in the flesh but nowt wrong with asking is there ?? :S

3rd one down on 3rd page ?? :)

yep thats the one :D

I would basically decide on a budget, Say £5k then go and view the cars from there on in order of milage so long as they meet other criteria. In most cases tho i would get the newest car i could even if it had say 10k more than one 2 years older. If that makes sense :S I am full of flu so might not be making sense

Drink tasted fine but it wasnt 'propper' coke, some cheap version hense the 'rola-cola' comment. My food wasnt too great either. I would have left the meat like you but then i would have ended up with just bread lol

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/93244.htm is this a good price eventhough its an import ?? :)

23k in less than a year maybe. This might be good as faults would have been fixed etc but could equally be bad. Price seems cheap tho. I wouldn't personally be bothered with it being an import. Get less warrenty tho i think (do a search as i seem to remember this being discussed in detail). Bradford areas not too far away to pop up for a looksee tho. Wont hurt :D

Between both of those if i wasnt fussed about colour a would probably go for the newer car.

Thats the strangest 5k budget i have seen tho ;) wish my budgets were like that :D :D

Mk1 maz since there no warently on cars he's looking at might as well got one which is cheaper and easier to fix.
Plus its the better car.

Why not take him to a phase 1 172 and get him to sit in then give him £4.5k in a pile of cash and say its this or no cash and a 182.

Either that or kick him.
