Help clio mk2 stereo

Hi guys I'm new here and this is my first post, I brought a clio mk2 w reg a month ago with no stereo. I brought a second hand one from eBay model number 8200 483 751. When I connect the stereo there's no display next to temp and clock so j can't enter code is this the rigt mobel stereo for the year of car?

Hi, make sure the small square cable/s or the red if its there, are in properly as that's the cable to the screen, other than that it may have come out of the clock, but that's a dashboard off job which is really easy and there's a guide on here for taking it off.

Although to enter the code, on the front of the radio numbers 1,2,3,4 are the code sequences so for instance if your code is 4321 press 1 four times, 2 three times etc.

Thanks LB-1 will give it ago tomorrow and post back. i forgot to say when the stereo is connected if i press the power button and wait 2 seconds and press eject i hear a loud beep from the speakers. will check the cables at the back of the display. i have time and outside temp. just no stereo display so i can enter code.

that beep when you push a button is just the radio telling you that you need to put the code in, thanks

Still no joy with the stereo. Does anyone know if the model stereo will work on a mk2 clio w reg. it's a renault 8200 stereo

Don't quote me on this as it's a wild guess, but 8200 may well refer to the software version. If it does, I don't think yours will be 8200, as my 2004 182 had the software version 8000.

I am probably completely wrong though. I'm sure someone will come along to help you shortly.

Id really take the top dash off, takes about half an hour the first time, roughly 10 screws, the previous owner may have put a steering control cable in with an after market stereo and not put the red plug back into the clock.

although some genuine stereos dont work across models - a scenic stereo apparently wont work in a clio even though some are identical

Thanks for your help guys looks like ill take the dash off and check cables. Failing that anyone want to buy a renault CD player lol
