RIGHT MY RUBBER GRIP ON THE STEARING WHEEL IS STARTING TO PEEL AWAY RENUALT TOLD ME (LOCAL DEALER) SAID THAT IT ONLY COVERD UNDER WARRENTY IN ITS 1ST YEAR AS TRIM MY CAR IS 2 AND A HALF YEARS OLD AND HAS 18K ON THE CLOCK GUYS I NEED YOUR HELP IKNOW SOME PEOLPE HAVE CLAIMED NEW STEARING WHEELS UNDER WARRENTY FOR THIS PROBLEM SO WHAT CAN I SAY TO THEM FOR IT TO BE COVERED :evil:

i claimed with about 18-20k on the clock.
But my car was 6 months old, so its hard to say.

Go again when someone else is at the parts and service desk or try a different renault dealer and hope they overlook the 1 yr trim part of the deal?

Go to another dealership its covered under the fact that its not made fit for purpose. I got mine done at just under 3 years and 55k.

Just say for them to look at it again its a common issue and its not fit for purpose if it fails ie breaks that quickly. Renault dealerships shouldn't care they claims the money back from Renault Uk they don't actually have to pay for it out of there own pocked and get nothing back.

Well, the not fit for purose bit is the sales of goods act but if you use this, only the supplying dealer has to replace it under this act not any reno dealer.

so your options are to go back and nag a bit, call round other dealers see if they will just do it no questions asked, and if still no luck go back to the supplying dealer armed with the trade descriptions act and you should get it done.. you will have to threaten them with it.

I just had mine replaced from the supplying dealer without any hassle, but thats only because the bloke i bought it off had really good relationship with them.

Mine got replaced by another dealership that didn't sell the car it goes back to Renault Uk warently for them to pay the dealership who did the work.

Renault UK supply the car and the warently is with then dealers do the work and send the parts back to Renault to to get paid for the work.

Oh yeah thats what happens in a straight forward situation. i dont know why a dealer would not do it.

but if you have bad luck and cant get a dealer to help, and end of they day they dont have to as the trim warrenty is 1 year, the sale of goods act is only any use at the supplying dealer.

The dealership should ring Renault Uk who will agree to pay for the claims the dealerships does the work then sends the bill to Renaul UK. Supplying dealership doesn't matter.

Wonder why some dealers say reno wont pay then, maybe just lazy. because they really dont have (and its started to thunder here) to after a year...

If i was being ultra cynical i'd say that they take note of your registration, tell you to f**k off, and then claim that they've done the work to Renault, you get humped and they get the cash for doing nothing.

The dealers have to return the damaged wheel so there no point.
