Sounds like you've damaged the tyre wall and the steel re-inforcement. Get it replaced asap also look at the wheel too as it could of damaged it on the inside rim - that happened to my dad in ireland, looked fine from the kerb side but inside was a different story!

Try not to drive over 40-50mph with a damaged tyre too.

Blowouts arent fun, You NEED to change the tyre if it had blistered/bubbled.
Never mind tread level.

Sound advice. Get the wheel jacked up, get a mate to spin it by hand and look underneath check you haven't buckled your alloy aswell.

Get a new tyre.When you hit them like that they do damage and make them unsafe.

When the tyre is being fitted check the alloy for damage

my grandads verso T180 had a bubble in the tire wall probly caused by my ana mountaineering up and down kerbs etc, it cost him £108 for a new tire because there like 215/50/R17's i think

Well t-mobile and orange both have no signal with the "emergency calls only" on the screen. o2 is ok and gets some signal though, not sure about vodaphone!!

good chance you will have a buckled wheel if its blebbed the tire as it usually means you have smacked the rim.

took it to bfs work at mercedes yesterday and a technician there ordered a pilot exalto for me, fitted it in the merc workshop and had a look underneath etc, i havent done any damage thank god, just the tyre needed replacing...

for a whopping £40 lol
£116 at kwik fit!

Good that you got the tyre sorted - good price too......pain in the arse pot holes....look what one did to my Bora alloy 2 xmases ago in the early dark hours one morning....

The offending hole...

Believe it or not after hitting it everything 'felt' ok - no wandering, pulling, strange noises. I got out & checked - rim from the outer side was fine so I carried on and actually did 8xmph+ up the M58 & back again without any issues. Decided to pop into my mates tyre place to check the balancing of that wheel - was only then this was spotted!!!

Could of been very interesting if it had blown out on me....doesnt bear thinking about!!!

they must have lost money on £40 notes! take the vat of and thats £32 trade cost. Sure its a 205 and not a 195? I know for a fact that michelin dont sell them at that trade!

you can get 3 points if police catch you with it. the strength of the side wall is now compromised. i know its an arse with there being so much tread, but get it changed for your own safety.
