**Help** more car problems??!! anyone any ideas?

  BMW F31
my abs ring had gone (didnt know this at the time, and have found out only afterwards :( ) and the abs was on constantly etc when the light went out, my mechanic told me i needed a new driveshaft, this then has caused more problems as he fitted it badly and has damaged the bearing in the box, now having to sort it out with a renault specialist charging me, gonna claim back from the first guy who fucked it!

looked through my car history and it had an abs ring done last february for a total of £65 all in, so far i have spent £250 including the wrong diagnostic at the very first garage when it happened, plus im gonna have to spend at least £200 to get the bearing or whatever it is sorted :(

makes me sick when i think it could've all been sorted for £65:( :( :(

anyone any ideas what could be the problem in the box? when on the ramps and you hand turn the wheel it makes a kinda of clicky noise, my mate who's a mechanic thinks its a bearing of some type but he is a ford mechanic so he's not sure exactly.

anyone any ideas what the other mechanic has fucked when putting in the new driveshaft? it vobrates at 4750k revs and stops at 5500k???

really hoping its not gonna cost alot :(

bet the faulty ring was on the nsf shaft and he has damaged the needle roller assembly that fits inside the gearbox on the inner end of that shaft.

^^^ nah it was the osf driveshaft that was replaced.

took it to a renault specialist this morning, they have looked at the car but because the dick at the previous garage had rounded my locking wheel nut they couldnt get the wheel off :(

they have looked at it and dont think its the wheel bearings or any bearings in the box, they think it may have something to do with the hub carriers and the guy suggested i may need new pads and disks!?

could the changing of the driveshaft affect this? anyone else got any other ideas as to why it vibrates etc?

also the osf d/s was replaced but the garage say it sounds like the noise is coming from the nsf?? i give up with this car lol! bloody renaults!

My guess would be when the original work was done, they have split the ball joints etc with the good old fashioned " whack it wiv an ammer Fred" technique, instead of using a ball joint splitter, and the have bent or damaged the hub carrier.

great, so just changing the disks aint gonna make f**k all difference then lol.

how much is a hub carrier?

im assuming the hub carrier is just the part which holds the pads and piston etc?

The hub carrier is the big casting that holds the bearings where the drive shaft goes through and all the suspension, steering and brake calipers are bolted to.

EHat driveshaft was replaced?

If its the passenger side he may well have fucked up putting it in and the tripod roller bearings on the end fallen off into the box(this will also mean the box is fucked)

think he means what drivesft.

one of the roller bearings came off my shaft when i was driving and all the pins went into the gearbox.

cost me...
new gearbox
new driveshaft
new gearbox mount
new cat/downpipe

yeah mine is ok i think, well it drives lol but i do get a vibration through the pedals and gearstick etc so something is wrong, guess i'll find out when they get the wheel off lol
