Help, need spacers to stop front wheels rubbing but what MM?

  Clio 182
I need to buy some spacers to stop the front wheels rubbing on the inner arch after I lowered it the other week, how far to go though? is 20 - 25 mm suitable? I also dont want to incur any rubbing on the outer bumper edge also while turning.

Any help apreciated :)

When I lowered my 1.2 on coilovers I started out on 25mm on the front, way to big, and used to rub the outer edge. Dropped down to 15mm spacers and they were perfect, that's proberly your best bet?

Make sure if you go more than 5mm to get longer wheel bolts unless its like a 15mm spacer which will be a hubcentric, bolt to hub jobby.

Oh sh*t I thought it was rubbing on the plastic liner.... :/ will have to look at getting this sorted very quickly if its the coilover its self its rubbing on! Might try the 20mm then that sounds like me best bet!

Ah ok then, I might go for the 10 or 15 mm spacers then! Hope I make the right choice tho, I hate wasting money :p

Just had the wheel off and it looks like its rubbing on the lower arm... I couldn't see any evidence of any rubbing on the coil over... I'll try and get some pics up!

Don't think it's possible to have the wheels contacting the wishbone. What coilovers are you running? What height? What's the offset on your wheels? How much camber?

So I have been told, maybe its just me being a tool... It's just I couldn't see any other signs of rubbing apart from where the dirt had been rubbed off the wishbone on each side. I've got raceland coilovers (dont laugh lol) quite low but I can't be sure, and the camber is fooled and needs to go in for 4 wheel alignment as soon as I have the spacers on, its uneven as one side is out!

Alright. Spacerwise you need to fit at least 15mm wide hubcentric ones, as thinner spacers will foul the hub.

Right ill go for 15 mm then! umm where is the best place to buy them? There are some on ebay for just over 50 quid (unbranded) claiming to be "hubcentric" what does "hubcentric" actually mean? as opposed to non-hubcentric? dont wanna spend too much, not much over 50-70 quid... anything available for that sort of price.

^ are these hubcentric? and are there any cheaper alternatives that are perhaps cheaper?

I'd go gor branded ones (Eibach, H&R, FK). The spacers in the link above are spot on. You'll need 15mm extended wheelbolts aswell.

I've found that the fk spacers are a lot cheaper I've found them for £45! However they list them as 30mm? I take it this means 15mm each side? However fk have 4 different types of spacer? The one I was looking at was the 30mm A-centric, anyone know any thing about the different types and wether this type is suitable?

Yea mate. I had FK Spacers. Ordered them direct off the website.
Most sites have them listed as width per axle. So 30mm Spacers will be 2 x 15mm spacers

This page is helpful for telling you what's what. You can get FK one's from here, or from FK direct, they come from Germany, but I had no issues ordering.

A Centric means you need extended bolts
B Centric means the spacer bolts to the hub first, then you bolt your wheels to the spacer using original bolts.

If you go type A, you can get extended bolts for Demon Tweeks or Euro performance.

Ok awsome thanks for the help! So the A-centric's will be fine yea? And there not gonna send my wheels flying off down the road which is what I'm worried about after fitting spacers?

No Definitely not lol!
I had the A centric ones. They're still hubcentric so still have the lip for the wheel to sit on.
Just make sure you get longer bolts for them and all will be completely fine.
