Help needed with oil and brake change

heya everyone, i;m kinda new to clio sport, i have a 2002 1.5 dci 80, and its just done 72k miles... i read the main post with regards to the things required for servicing, and i've done a few things but just need some help....

i've just had the cam belt changed which cost a whopping 370 quid! from renault b'ham. just didnt trust the local mechanics who kept telling me the cam belt was the same thing as the alternator and fan belt...

anyways, since that kinda bankrupted me im deciding to do the air filter, oil filter and oil change myself...
i've picked up a airfilter and managed to change that (with difficulty until i bought a set of spline keys )
and im on the oil change...

i cant get my oil filter off, its really stuck on and i've been looking for a oil filter wrench that fits but the halfords laser one (76mm width) is too small!

also, i read a brake change seems simple, because renault told me i need my brake discs changed when i had the cam belt done.. they are quoting 227.93 for the front 2 discs and pads to get changed... is it do-able myself"?/?

also, whats the change interval for my glow plugs

thanx!!!

Get a spider type oil filter wrench with a 3 legs should have it off in no time. Just test your glow plugs with a test light or multimeter no need to change them unless they're duff, they aren't like spark plugs.

Heres a quick guide for pads/discs I did for someone else, very basic just rushed it tbh.

Quick Pads/Pads & Discs Guide - Non-RS Models
Okay this is a quick one for the pads and discs - do a side at a time so you can refer back if you have to.

Jacked/axle stands - safety
Wheels off
Remove 13mm Bolt on bottom of caliper
PD1.jpg

Lift caliper up, slide off carrier
PD2.jpg

push back piston (keep eye on level under bonnet)
PD3.jpg

Remove old pads & shims as necessary
Remove 2 X 18mms in the carrier (Bit that holds the pads)
Remove carrier, clean up with wire brush

PD5.jpg

Beat the 2 X T30/40s holding the discs on with a knockometer, they can be a bit tricky
Remove 2 X T30/40s holding discs on
Remove both discs, again, use the hammer, gently not to damage the hub

New discs on, you should get new T30/40s
Bolt the carrier back on after you've given them a clean up, make sure 18mms are tight!
New shims in the carriers
Copper grease the pads where they sit in the shims
Refit & lower the caliper
Re-tighten the 13mm bolts both sides

Pump the brake pedal out
Refit wheels, torque wheels when on the floor
Bed in new pads & discs as nececarry go easy on them for a while
