Help on choosing new Clio...

Right, i had a 98 mk2ph1 Clio 1.2 and the timing belt went (after 20k miles of having it all changed!) I needed a car to put me on so bought a Mk5 fiesta Zetec 1.25.

The put me on car is not needed anymore so i'm looking at a newer Clio as i bloody loved that car! Something around 03/04.

Got NCB now and am moving from a band F* postcode to a band B :approve:

Obviously i want a bit more poke than a 1.2 so have been looking at the 1.6 Dynamique+

Basically, i just wanted some opinions, on the car (not my choice of put me on car!)

Whats it like on MPG? Acceleration etc.

I sold it and got a grande punto which I absolutely despise! Plan is eventually to buy one and do a similar project to mini_valver.

How did you rate the 1.6? Any good on performance?

comapred to your 1.2 you will think its a massive step up in performance. 0-60 is about 9 seconds which feels massively quick when getting out of the 1.2.

They are great cars and brilliant stepping stone between 1.2 and hot hatches

I love mine, tis a cracking little car. Fast enough for me, loves to be reved, great to thrash around. But is also nice one the inside as you know clios are. I get about 34mpg at the moment, the previous owner got 37mpg lots of motoway driving and was only used to get to work. Mine will go up as i reset it not to long ago.
