A diluted all purpose cleaner orator glym engine and machine cleaner worked in with a small detailing brush, then lightly rinsed or wiped clean. Black plastics once cleaned use a trim dressing, such as autofinesse revive or autoglyms offering

Cold engine, spray on some all purpose cleaner (Megs APC, G101, AutoGlym Engine and Machine Cleaner), aggitate with a couple of detailing brushes, ideally rinse on a low pressure, but if you're worried, damp cloth and wipe over.

Treat the metal as you would your exhaust (metal polish), the painted sections as you would your paint (polish them up and apply high temp sealant) and plastics, look at something like 303 Aerospace Protectant; http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/interior/303-aerospace-protectant/prod_366.html

I'm just starting to clean mine up mate, but im not using water on mine either.
Giving the underside of the bonnet a good clean is a good start, that's what ive done, got to start giving the rest a clean up now! Need to get some brushes too.
