Help pls....Coil pack etc

Morning

I own a 2005 Clio 182 and have started encountering some problems.

The car was spluttering and bogging down also every now and then struggling to start. I read up on here and yesterday replaced the coil pack as seemd to be the common problem.

After fitting for some reason i had to jump start the car even though the battery is best part new and has been fine. Never the less it jumped fine and took it out for a driver and seemed to run back to normal. Unfortunately went out to start this morning to take to work and the battery it seems was flast dead out again!!

Any advice as to what this may be would be greatly appreciated as my mechanical skills are limited to say the least. Thanks vm

Firstly, you need to post this in the right section matey... it will recieve a much better responce in there (MODS)

Secondly you need to establish why your battery either is or appears to be going flat. Is it the batery itself, a poor earth or a naughty component staying live? This time of year seems to bring out the worst in poor condition batterys and connections so go get yours checked along with the condition of the charge circuit and that will answer your question for you.

battery replaced, new coil pack and the she's still not happy.

Stuttered to get started almost like the engine is a bit flooded then after a few goes kicks in adn coughs a load of rubbish out the exhaust. I'm guessing this will be the crank sensor and perhaps the original coil pack was fine and wasnt actually the problem?

Doesn't sound like Crank Position Sensor to me if its smelling rich as that normally means it is fuelling and to do that the ECM needs to see a trigger pattern (Which is derived from the CPS). More likely to be an H02 and CTS issue but a decent session with diagnostics will confirm or deny and help you spend your money a little more wisely.

had the car since new and the first time has started playing up which is a bit of a pain in the harris as we all know.

Going to try and find a decent place to get her plugged in.
