HELP!!! Split Charging System



  GOLF GT TDI
i have got a yellow top battery in the boot of my car and a battery in the front, i have got a split charging system but i am not sure how it wires in, i need to connect one wire up to a wire on my clio that goes positive when the car is running does anyone know where a wire is that turns live not when it is in accessory but when the actual engine is running

Help needed

erm... when you say split charging system, what exactly does this consist of?

basicly uses a high power relay to isolate the rear batt from the electrical system but still allow the ice to work while the engine is off

So the rear battery is only connected to the charging system when the engine is running? Surely then the relay/connection to the charging system (for the second battery) should be made after the alternator on the main feed to the primary battery? But wont a heavier duty alternator be required to charge 2 batteries at the same time?

yeah he just needs a cable that will supply 12v to the relay coil only when the car is running
