Help - What tyres for my 172??

Hey Guys and Gals,

So I have had my 172 for about 6 months now and I have enjoyed it so much that I need a new set of tyres! I wanted to gather an option of what the experts think are the ones to go for!

What amazes me is that the tyre treads are LOW at the moment but she still handles well so I just cant wait for the new set! YUM!

Any advice would be much apprecaited as I need to replace them ASAP so as not to ge the plod on ma back!

michelin pe2 are probably the best all round tyres atm , not knocking the rest but i've heard so much good reports about them .

I have been to SelectaTyre before and found them to be a bunch of muppets! (just my opinion though :S )

Any suggestions?

Sorry gents... stupid question but I just rung up a local tyre fitters and they quoted me £64 each tyre plus £4.50 balancing... is that right?

Seems way too cheap! I asked for the Michelin Pilot Exalto 2 (195/45/16 80V).

Just dont want them to fit seomthing shitty to my baby lol :S

About right. End of the day, tyre companies'll vary dramatically in prices...as long as they're the real deal, that's a pretty good price

Thats a very good price . Mytyres.co.uk want £73.80 for each tyre , then you have the cost of fitting them on top . Mytyres are usually cheaper than most places so i'd go for the price you've been quoted .
