Help......Williams CamBelt Kit !

  williamsclio.co.uk/forum

Hi all.

My Cars passed its MOT second time round. WooHoo.

Right just a quick question - aimed at GDI, Infinicar, 2live or anyone else that knows !

Ive asked the garage to fit a cambelt kit , which i bought from reno, it contains 1 cambelt, 1 tensoner wheel and a lower pulley bearing wheel.

The garage is 99% certain he carnt change the bottom bearing wheel supplied it the kit, as he carnt gain acsess to it when the engine is either raised or lowered. As its supplied in the kit - I want everything changing.

I dont trust any other garages in my area, other than this one ! But i dont want to be in the situaltion of taking it to another garage and they say theyve changed it and they havent...... If you know what i mean.

Has anyone actually changed this part with the engine in situ ?

Thanks for any help guys.

whats the verdict then are they hard to change?

Surely they should be able to change them or why would reno supply them in the kit!

the bottem idler pulley is a tw*t to change as the rear belt cover goes over the top of the pulleys mounting plate.

we have just changed two of these lower tensioners... one each day!!!

we take about 7 hrs to do a full cam belt change and service inc the lower tensioner...

so it can be done in the car, you just need to take the cover off to get access to it.
