Help with Renault UK

Ok quick help need please......

My brakes failed on sunday, took it into Renault in Monday morning and was informed that the brake servo had failed. Was told that they did not have any cars to give me a such short notice so Renault UK was phoned and I was give a hire car for 3 days.

Today I was phoned and told that the Servo was on back order from FRANCE and that it wouldnt be fixed for 7-10 working days!!!!! The service manager then phoned Renault UK who refused to pay for a hire car any longer.

I am going to be hugly out of pocket if I have to pay for a hire car for the best part of 2weeks. I need a car because i have to drive 80miles a day. What are my rights and when i ring Renault UK later to day what can i demand?

Thanks for you advice. Rob.

Well they should provide you with a car.

Phone up renault uk and ask if its std procedure to provide you with a car.

But dont tell them who you are. then when they say yes then ask them why you dont have one.

(but no doubt youve tried that)

At the end of the day, your car is NOT roadworthy, IT IS within warranty period.

So surely they should provide you with a SAFE and ROADWORTHY vehicle to go about your daily life.

But do they is that thier policy? Or do they have a clause which say that they dont "have" to supply me with a SAFE and ROADWORTHY vehicle even if mine were to break??

wot else do u pay so much money for a new car for and have 3yrs warrantee etc!

if they refused me i would throw my keys at them and say keep it lol

Unfortunatly I dont think that will work the Renault.

Theyll probably say thanks and then put in on the forecort for £11,999!!!

i was under the impression that if renault could not provide the parts the following day then hire/loan car would be provided at no cost to the customer. have a look through the documents you got when you bought the car im sure i read it somewhere in that lot.

Right have rung Renault UK. They have said that a car WILL be proved until the part arrives a the dealer. However once the part arrives at the dealer then it is down to that dealer to supply me with Loan/Hire of a car. They do not seem exactly willing to do this.

Is this a case that i can A, DEMAND a car or B, ask very nicely because they dont really HAVE to help me out?

Oh MY GOD.

UPDATE..... The part will take 7-10 WORKING DAYS MINIMUM

The fitting will take 4 DAYS

With easter approaching, Ill be lucky if I have my car back in 3 weeks time!!!
