hey , new , undecided

hey well im new to this clio thing but i know a few people with them , but im still undecided,


anyhow , bit of history all i have owned have been astras , i started of with a

1.6 sxi astra hatch

then i moved on to a

2.0 GSi

then i got a

1.8 Astra Coupe

(i cant find a pic of my coupe , i think i have one on my phone will post later )

so basically all i have had are astras , and i have been trough the range , do you think it time to move on to a different , what do yous think? any advice would be great

but if youre after clios, whats your budget?

if its big then Alien Green 200 with speedlines, recaros, cup spoiler, cup chassis and projector lights

if its less; liquid yellow 197 r27 with cup spoiler, RS splitter and RS skirts, xenons and climate control

less still; liquid yellow 182 with both cup packs

less still; 172cup/ sunflower ph1

hey cheers fast response(well i used to live in roker, not any more but rubbish town up the road now ha) , well i live in cyprus (working) and im back 3 times a year at least , so i need a car for home would work out better than renting (im only 22) idealy no more than 4k as i cant justify spending alot of money ona acar when i wont be using it alot well enough ,

so any help from that and even trying to source a car would be really helpful , thanks

ah nice one , you seen it recently ? building site haha , and way i say im due to 4k idealy it would be 3 ha , but well i am in need of a car , im home on leave now and im due to go back in the next few weeks , the sooner i have a car the better , im just sitting in the house at the moment wasting my time , but that is a really nice yella 182 ,

i havent no... i havent been home since april i think.

3k, will get you an alright 182 i think. do you know anything about clios?

theres a guide on here but im having trouble finding it :(

i know zero , im only looking because a couple of mates i know have them , all i thought they where was a big lump of money wasted what with timing belts etc and it being French ha , but i know zero , ive been on here all day looking and reading up on bits and bobs but thats it ,

having no luck finding it. ffs

basically. the best specced 182s are 'full fats'

theyre a normal 182 with both cup packs
larger 'cup' rear spoiler
cup splitter
cup chassis
anthracite alloys
xenons with washer jets
part leather seats
cruise control and climate control

a standard 182 has the smaller spoiler
slightly higher and softer ride
no splitter
silver wheels

a 182 cup has the cup spoiler, splitter and chassis/anthracite wheels as standard
it only comes in Racing blue or inferno orange
they have cloth seats
standard headlights with washer blanks
no climate control (some were specced with manual a/c)
no cruise control
on the off chance theyve not fallen off. it has little 'cup' badges on the door pillars


hope that helps :)



make sure the car youre buying has had the belts changed £550 job or an engine rebuild if they snap

the belt changes are every 5 years or 72k miles

the exhaust mounts are s**t so look for droopy exhausts (easy fix)

the exhausts themselves are s**t so look/listen for rust and blowing

most people upgrade the exhausts (standard exhausts are like pea shooters)

so its a 182 FF im wanting then? haa , yeah so car whats just had its belt done would be ideal , wel im looking about now on ebay piston heads and auto trader but its a night mare ive been looking for cars for like a week now and its just frustrating ha i want a car like now !

seen a few clios today started asking about so hopefully ill have one by the weekend , just hassle trying to get about the country with no car

  182/RS2/ Turbo/Mk1
Clios handle better than astras, but I do prefer the vauxhall engine and transmission to modify, so it depends what you want from a car.
