Hi all - New 172 Driver

  Silver 172 Ph1
Hey all,
I've just joined today, I'm a 21 year old 172 owner (1 week and counting) I've had a good read around and this is a damn useful forum. Already calmed me down on the airbag light! (was a bit worried)

So its been a week and my car already has a flat battery, I think its just because its 6 yr old and probably the original battery. Setting off to get one tonight, is it worth chasing up a renault one or does it not matter?

Also my Oil sensor seems to be on crack and is yoyo'ing about I think im just going to ignore it and go 'manual' on the oil checking.

Am I getting an alright deal on my ins, paying £1100 fully comp with 3 yrs no claims. Seems ok to me I shopped around a bit and went with Adrian Flux in the end.

Welocme, Insurance price isnt too bad, but adrian flux can be awkward if you do need to claim, make sure you tell them every little mod or change etc.

Hello dude, i am a newbie 2!

I got quoted £1200, Fully Comp on Firect Line, 21, 0NCB, 0accidents, 0 Points, so it looks like your getting raped!

I am hopefully going to be getting a 172 in the coming months :D

Oil sensor ? do you mean when you press the trip reset button after first starting the car ? with the square blocks ? if so its handy to tell you your running low but always manually check with the dipstick first before topping up.

If you park on a hill it can throw the sensor off into thinking your low on oil.
