HIDS buying help

I want a set of HIDs for my phase 1.

looking on ebay theres 000's price from £20-75

what am i looking for? is there actualyl much difference in the kits?

any suggestions or links appreicated. ideally want to be around £30=35 mark if possible.

I bought these one's for my ph2 cup. Pretty decent kit to be honest mate. Mine are H7 8000k.

5000-6000k are the best option anything higher looks stupid imo

Yup, HB3 9005k

I bought some off Ebay from Hong Kong 8 months ago (6000k) they were £26 and are perfect, the service was absolutley spot on aswell!


You also need to decide on light colour/temperature, for reference, standard 1*2 headlights are 4300k.

All fitted easy 5 mins per side and job done. I had to turn the plug into the ballast round to work.

Need to fix the ballasts down properly need to find somewhere to secure them.

Have to wait till drive at night as to how different they are

Maybe a bit bluer than id liked ideally so maybe should got 4300s rather than the 6k but definitely better than the night breakers they replace

LbThe bulb is straight fit no harder than a standard bulb.

There are then 2 boxes and looms but easy as male female plugs so only go one way.

You make the circuit joining up with the bulb and ballast. Then finally there is another plug coming from the hid bulb plug that into the car loom where you would plug the standard bulb.

Its hard to explain but its really easy you'll see exactly what I mean with the kit out. Just remember the connector coming out the side of the bulb goes to the car.

If they don't work turn the plug into ballast 180 and try again.

Really is 5 mins just fiddly as not alot space or I've got big hands lol

Totally plug play so can remove in 5 mins and back standard without ever knowing. Honestly not much more to it than changing standard bulb. Just took me couple mins to look up that I had to turn the plug to revere the polarity.

Go for it. Would say 6k if you want a blue look or guess 4300 for whiter

I'm also interested in buying HIDs. Would 8000k be too bluey? and what type would I need for ph1? its a 1.2 non sport, not sure if my car would be different to a 172 ph1?

I find this to be a more accurate chart tbh.

As you can see, 6000k is just about right.

You'll need HB3 fitment for a Ph.1, you'll need dual optic headlamps to use HIDs. (Poverty spec headlamps are H4 fitment but you'll blind everyone if you try to put HIDs in them.)

I'm just thinking, i'm planning on fitting the ones ashy got on saturday and realised something about the connection.

My dipped beam currently has the connector on the far right, where u push the bulb into instead of having a spring clamp thing to hold it in.

The Hids i have are like

There is no where for the hid to be held in as on my normal halogen bulb i push the three prongs in, if you know what im going on about. ASHY or someone else with cup's does your dipped beam have the connector in first picture.
Or someone enlighten me if i being a f**ktard

Might just get some xenons
