High Co2 Reading.... CAT??

Hi,

I just got back from my MOT test and the car failed on the CO2 emissions...

They were well over the allowed 0.30, and I was wondering if that means that the CAT as packed up???

does anyone know what the CAT actually does??

I dont want to pay out 200 quid if its not the CAT...

the lambda reading was 0.95 and it should have 0.97 to 1.03.....

It passed the CO2 at natural idle but not at fast idle like 2500rpm...

Try some injector cleaner on 1/4 tank of fuel, and re-test while it's still in the system.

Could be a dodgy or incorrectly set spark plug, producing carbon build-up.
Worth a check!
