Wish blockbuster would start doing hi-def moves, dont wanna rent "normal" DVD's now lol
yes it was, got it from axelmusic, was instock and cheap and i like using them as they are very good.I downloaded the Ice Age 2 trailer on the PS3 last night and it really is stunning looking
Is Happy Feet a US import?
if you use hmv though, they are expensive for everything except the stuff they have in the sale, they regularly sell dvd's at rrp.really? i thought that all bluray stuff was that expensive....just saw them in hmv for that money..
Is that out in HD format yet?True, but then films like the matrix also do HD justice
Matrix HD-DVD is coming (US anyway but region free so no matter) in several weeks

I had wondered this!rich[182];2640220 said:Surely the only true HD movie though is that shot on a 100% digital source such as Starwars Eps 2 & 3, I'm sure none of the Matrix were so isn't there some form of processing required to in lamens terms 'convert to 1080p'
nope not at all film is far better than a hd camera as a sourceI had wondered this!rich[182];2640220 said:Surely the only true HD movie though is that shot on a 100% digital source such as Starwars Eps 2 & 3, I'm sure none of the Matrix were so isn't there some form of processing required to in lamens terms 'convert to 1080p'
because film it so 'high res' though to say, its higher quality than 1080p anyway so is going to be perfect when transferred to disc but it also depends on the type of film shot at and also the way the director wanted to shoot the film. take miami vice for instance, its very grainy, even on hd-dvd but thats how the director Mann wanted it to look, so people may complain the picture isn't great but its the way it ws supposed to look.rich[182];2640618 said:Surely though , whether film is better than HD from a source point of view is another issue, in terms of a given movie being true HD then the source would have to be shot at 1080p or else your simplistically getting a simulated HD through processing/upscaling etc, Ep3 to DVD is a like for like transfer, many of the DVD sites & mags all say that its the visual reference for picture transfer to DVD for that very reason
It's like old b&w films having their original soundtrack remastered to Dolby surround, it's not true dolby surround is it ?

using film is also a reason why some older films still look stunning in HD as it has the high quality to work from.
nah they just use a 1xPS3 to render it ooo the power.
