  An old banger!

hey just a quick question ! my willams is currently at 96k miles!

How likely am i to blow the engine up, or do some serious damage if i Rag my car up the strip at Santapod/York reaching maximum revs in each gear????

Cheers

Not really down to the mileage but if something is going to give it will be under the heavy strain of 1/4 miling.

More down to how well it has been looked after, a certain red 16v ripped out its gearbox mount while dragging but lived to fight on.

My Williams has done about 30 track days and many a Welsh mountain pass at max revs and is still going strong at 86k miles .

A run up the strip isnt that hard on the engine anyway . Continued high rpm in hot weather around a track is much more punishing .

If its been well looked after its no problem .
