After a mahosive VAT bill, I was going to cancel my 172/hybrid project as I was going to get a well known tuner off this forum to carry out the work based on a drive in-drive out basis and just pay the dollars. But a mahoosive VAT bill meant I had to dip into personal savings and so I was just going to track it as a standard car (ish! lol)

But My mechanic, love him, has said 'nah, f**k that lets crack on. We can do it between us!'

:S

So today I started so he can get to work tomorrow night.

let him drive it when its finished and il reckon you will make him a convert...
at time i hate mine with the shitty build quality and it not being MEGA reliable but theres something about an RS at full chat flying round a corner!
Dan do you get any cheap hpi checks with being in the motor trade by any chance :)

I did until I found out the costs of it! f**k that!

I bought a written off 172 and sold all the undamaged bits. The 172 engine/box/ECU/Brakes/loom etc now owes me nothing. Zilch. Nada.

So all this conversion is going to cost me is Labour. (and possibly a couple of sundries)

TT Conversion was well above £6,000!

Cool Danielson, you going fcs with it ??

Not sure. Its a lot of aggro for not a lot of reward. Everyone i've spoke to says its s**t! lol.

I have a track day on the 27th of march that I want to go to, so we hope to finish it by then.

Good stuff.

How are you planning on running 172 brakes without 172 hubs? Make up some adapters?

Do you have any 172 driveshafts left from the written off car?

I have the whole car mate.

Everything '172' that I can get on will be fitted.

Basically, in an ideal world, i'd like to just swap shells if that makes sense? I want as much 172 running gear as I can fit in it. I want a 172 car in a mk1 shell. (lol, I can't make this sound as good as it does in my head!)
