Hopefully CD problem?!

Right guys.. Picked up my 182 this afternoon., everything as it should..


go to give it some beans and the CD player goes up in volume and distorts really badly,

its some shitty Alpine unit and I'm hoping its just that and not something wrong with the electrics?

Ps. I know that volume increases with speed but not by this much and that badly

any ideas?

just checked haynes, it is the "instrument panel radio earth", where that is i am not entirely sure, but perhaps that is causing the issue of a crappy earth. its just a possibilty tho! i would assume it may be under the instrument cluster or one of the bolts holding the top dash on etc, not sure.
