Horn not working...

Oh well, I guess that will curb any road rage tendancies.... ;)

Anyone got suggestions of 'obvious' stuff I should check first? I don't want to do too much with the air-bag being there. The last thing I want to do is for that thing to go off.

Cheers,
D.

Mine has stopped working too.

However I can get it to work ifI move the wheel around a bit.

I think it is a dodgy contact on mine.

You will probably find it is the horn units themselves that may be at fault. These are located on the n/s behind the fog light. Accessed via the front half of the wheel arch liner.

check its the unit with a multimeter, make sure a current is getting to the horn... mine was on its 3rd horn when it came to sell... and it was a 2004 car..

Check to see if there is a live to the horn. If not ur probably lookin at the rotary switch bein faulty. This is the part the indicator/wiper switch goes into and sits around ur steering column. And yes these r expensive. Just dont mess about wid it urself as its connected to the steering wheel airbag.

mine died when i was running the car with no arch liner (due to an incident with an unmarked ramp in the road i didnt see!, involoved me having to then buy 2 new front apex dampers, an arch liner + 2 front tyres (passengers side 1 was fucked))

Cheers guys. I'll check the connection itself to the horn, other than that, it may have to get booked in..... :(

Is it an offence to have a non-working horn?

i had this awhile ago, for me it was just a wire that had unplugged from the unit, get under the car and you will be able to see if its plugged in correctly
