Got quoted £232 by Birchdown

Imo, that what he should deduct from the price then.
This meeting halfway thing isn't really any good because it's his fault it hasn't been done, not yours.

What's your plan of attack?

I would, but I live a looonng way away lol.

You're right, buying cars can be hard. It depends on how much you want it really and how nice/tidy/looked after it is.
Sometimes you have to pay a little extra for a good one.

If the price currently stands at £2990, you could ask him to go to £2900 and the haggle to somewhere inbetween, then it's a bit of a comprimise.

What's the book price on it with the mileage it has?

You can buy guides from the Newsagents like Glass's etc.

I've changed my mind. If you want it, get it.
It will make you really happy, so if you have to pay a few pounds more, then what the hell.

Ring him up, offer £2950. If he says no, then accept his price.

You could walk away and find that the others for sale are dogs.

She's trading the 1.2 against it.

Have you tried Sky Insurance on here Laura? They were good to me.

Yeh trading the 1.2 in, considering its got broken locks and central locking he isnt giving me a bad price £650.

Yeh Pip, someone rang me wouldnt even tell me what they came out with it was way above what admiral have quoted

Pretty sure the clio in question used to live around the corner from me intill about 6 month ago.

You sure this is what you want? you can get more for your money if you dont rush in.

I paid 3700 for my full fat 182 with 70k FSH about 4 week ago.

Is that not a really old trick, putting the price up to make you think you have a really good deal and also at the same time dis-encouraging you from haggling at all?

As ipodsandguns said if you're not wanting to rush it, you'll probably be able to find a car for less, particularly as seen as it's Jan/Feb time.

Yeah its pretty silly of him really. in what world would he think 'right iv not sold this car at this lower then what i believe is average? i better put the price up!'

You should look at a few money even if you do it for leisure and with no real intent to buy, print off the ads and take them with you when you view other cars.

You have no reason to rush at all, I wasnt rushing and id sold my old car and had no way at all of gettin to work or uni 40 miles away!
