I havent got guts to push it with what happened to all the Cups last year lol.

Fantastic, puts the power down a hell of a lot better than my 172 ever did on wet or damp roads.

They not really tail happy in the wet? I find my valver can be a bit of a handful if you enter a corner quickly in the wet and don’t keep your foot planted!

Getting my 182 on Friday 11th of December so would be interesting to know with winter coming up

I went out in Geoff liquid yellow 182 on tuesday night and i must say i was very impressed with those michelins in the wet. The seemed to have loads of grip, i thought it was down to the fact that he had traction control on but we tried again with it off and no real difference. Still would not trade my Yokos for em tho, i love the dry to much!

They are even better in the dry. Get them warm and they turn sticky, so much so that I could mould the edges at Spa they got so soft.

They are the best tyres Ive had in the wet though.

drives just as well in the wet as it does in the dry IMHO ... but I found that the brakes took a while to bite after getting soaked

took it out last night in the wet comming back from Oxford on the A34 to didcot, a ton in the wet and no problems, lovely drive in the wet.

only had one scary moment and that was where the road was totaly flooded and the car on my left chucked up so much water it looked like someone had dropped a bath load on my windscreen! but rain away and good wipers sorted it in seconds

ABS and ESP in the wet keeps you on the road and stops snatch when you hit big puddles, and as for aquaplaining, not a problem

Have fun kiddies but play safe

Are you using A539s Mark? They dont give anywhere near the same levels of grip as the PE2s on either wet or dry roads.

BenS commented on how much better I was able to get the power down out of the first corner hair pin at Spa compared to his Cup on A539s.

Ive got some of these bad boys in the shed: http://www.yokohamatire.com/TireIntro.asp?TireID=60Link

I find it quite amusing that mine loses traction when the engine comes on cam....floor it in first gear and itll pull steadily then at around 5500rpm the wheels start spinning! Cornering abillity on wet roads is very good in my opinion!

Had loads of fun at Oulton park on saturday when it started to rain at the end of the day, i was running on Indysport moulded slicks(pic below)

I had never used them in the wet before but managed to stay out long after most people had deserted the track, i think it was only possible because they were hot after 6 dry laps and says alot about the handling of the clio in the wet.

Yes Lee they are A539, and yes viceroy they are terrible in the wet. They spin loads in the wet but still remarkably still allow you to steer quite easy. Once you used to them they are ok. I used to have A510 on my old clio and they were better in the wet but not as good in dry. I would be interested in seing how the michelins go on my lowered 172 compared to my A539s. Shame ive still got loads of grip ATM!

Never rated the A539s in the wet...in fact theyre horrible

Nay! Damn right bloody dangerous!!!
Ill 2nd, 3rd, and 4th that... absolutely terrible.

Being smooth helps though... Ive found snatching the wheel round junctions gives instant understeer with only the slightest bit of damp, but be smoother with your inputs, and they do hang on quite well.

Its a bit scarey in the wet with the ESP on, turn it off and it handles like a dream in the wet, goes in the direction your pointing it, and lets you correct it when it slides/kicks out, unlike with the ESP on, you just dont know what way it gonna go when your bootin it on the twists
