How bad is my 182 exhaust?

The thread today got me thinking again... it was advised as corroded in the MOT earlier this year.

How long do you think it's got left before it falls off?
Should I seriously be looking for a replacement?

I'd start looking now, better to have a replacment, or get it replaced before it falls off.

Hard to tell from the pics tbh . Granted there is alot of surface rust , but its what the condition is like inside . My 172 exhaust looked pretty similar to yours on the outside , then the bugger fell off in B+Q car park on 30k miles .

The car will run without an exhaust, its not going to blow up or owt.

Just be loud, until you get it fixed.

Just a pain in the arse as I won't exactly be able to drive it away if it's hanging...

Yeah very loud . Like a chaved up saxo , lol . Luckily i had a knife in my car as mine was banging about on the ground . I had to cut the rubber off .

Iffy is nothing. When it starts to sound like a V8, that's the time to replace it.

I thought with all the failures and crappy design on the 172 exhausts, Renault would have though about the design of the 182 and made it better/stronger! :dead:

It was easier to cut it off . The back box and centre pipe had just dropped to bits , the centre section wasn't even that old as it has been replaced under warranty about 12 months previous .

I had 3 systems under warranty on my 182 before i couldn't be arsed anymore with reno's pish, i ordered the Yozzasport..

thats nothing like as bad as mine was when it started to go. BAsically they hold water and if you park on a slope it makes it worse as I found out.

Just be prepared to fit one soon or do it asap and forget about it.

My tip would be longlife or a prospeed custom quiet jobby.
