How do front seat fasten down

The right hand front bolt has come loose on the passenger front seat on my MK1 172! The head of the bolt is round so there appears to be nothing to tighten up!! Is this done from the underneath of the car? If so how do I get there? As there seems to be some sort of rubber cover and then there is the centre section of the exhaust which appears to be where I need to be!

yes underneath the car - get underneath you will see two big grommets about 50mm dia remove these and you will see 2 13mm nuts the other two nuts for the other side runner are under the exhaust heat sheild

So do you have to remove the exhaust??

no just look at the heat shield you will see two fairly big holes - through the holes are the other two nuts
