How do I get the fan back in?!?

So took the fan + radiator out the valver yesterday... got the radiator back in but now I can't get the bloody fan back in!! Good old Haynes says "Simply pull the fan out and to refit push it back in and do up the screws" problem being there is hardly any room because of the inlet manifold

Any tips?

Put it back in the same way you took it out?

Yeah except that involved a lot of pulling and nearly broke it all so just wondering what the recommended way of it doing it is?

pull the rad up and out of its mounting holes, and then move it forward abit, and lean it oout the way too, should have enough room then

Bugger I was afraid someone would say that Just got the bottom hose on took ages! Just didn't really wanna take it off again oh well

im thinking of fitting a nice slimline kenlowe fan to mine left over from my rs turbo days, as i have to refit the radiator tommorow.. bloody headgaskets!!

why not just slide it in from the side, thats how I do it.

or if the bonnet and grill are off, slide it out between the slam panel and bumper.

Couldn't get it in from the side there was a bar in the way absolutely no way to get the fat ass of the fan past it I tried everything! In the end had to take the rad out again and put it in that way!
